Over the years, Japan has proven that can beat the Americans in their own games (and that's literally).
Japanese companies produce much better denim garments, outerwear and jeans, superior vintage clothing and replicas of some of the most iconic American WW2 apparel. The quality of their hand-crafted leather jackets and boots is next to perfection...
So... when last year my friend Steffen mentioned something about a beach/sand race in Japan, the first thought that flashed in my head was... What if they are able to pull something better than what's happening in America lately?
Here in Europe, we have perfect examples of how the American way of life can thrive outside its own soil and can serve as a pure example of how passionate and driven people can achieve something that can be pointed as an epitome of the post-war American culture... away from America.
In the incoming week, I will leave the answer to the above question to your judgement. For me - I definitely would be back again. Because of the country, and most importantly, because of the people behind the Oarai Sand Race event.
